New Zen tables

As you well know Zen Studios are the last surviving digital pinball editors. Once they disappear there will be no more pinballs on the Mac. Since they have joined the Apple Arcade collection they are producing tables under the Zen Pinball Party moniker. As I explained in a previous post of mine I don't wish to pay for an Apple Arcade subscription just to be able to play the new tables. So I am giving you the information without comments. The three new tables are

Funko Pinball Party Arena

A Peanuts/Snoopy table

and a graphically superb Garfield table

I am a great fan of Garfield and would have liked to lay my hands on this table, but as I said previously I am not going to pay the Apple Arcade tax just for this. Too bad.

  1. Hi Vasilis - Appreciate all of the great pinball history. I'm a huge fan of Littlewing and still play several of their games frequently. Unfortunately I have lost my product key to Fairy Tower and am looking for help to get another one. Do you know anyone who still plays this game and may have a key? Happy to swap for other Littlewing games keys.

    1. Sorry, no. I don't have the key to Fairy Tower. These old pinballs do not play in recent MacOS.
And as you may notice the blog is as good as dead. It is here for archival reasons only.

  2. Just checking in to see how you're doing. I thought of you when trying to find all my archived PC pinballs which I had on my backup drive before it died.. apparently I did have the foresight to copy many to a new drive, but there's still hundreds of rare games and update files that are gone forever. Also I can't recall what I did to get the Wine wrappers to work so well..
It seems I'm permanently consigned to multibooting between Snow Leopard and High Sierra.. I'm not willing to surrender all my apps annd games that worked so well for me so far.. as the saying goes.. "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
Especially since there's no more (digital) pinballs being made for macs,,
Actually, are "Macs" even still Macs? Aren't they just large tabletop tablets now?
Anyways , hope you are well...

    1. Hi NIck

It's nice to hear from you. I am doing fine but I have practically abandonned the pinball blogging business since there are no news whatsoever. No new pinballs and I am not even sure that Zen will continue producing new tables. Pinball Arcade does play on Monterey and so I am can play some of my favourite tables. The ones I am missing though are the Littlewing ones and of course ProPinball. It's such a pity that the ProPinball revival attempt failed so miserably.
I hope you are doing fine.

  3. Hi there. I did check out "Pinball Arcade" to see what it was all about, but turns out even if I *wanted* to subscribe I couldn't.. "Not available in Canada".. from the day I was born I always heard that phrase *continually*, and seems it is still with me.. it's terribly insulting to us in Canada that three quarters of the apps, movies, and items available are always blocked to us. It makes us feel worse than most third world countries since they usually have better access than us. The fact that Apple also does this also only makes me more glad that I'm no longer an Apple apologist.. The shine wore off the Apple after Snow Leopard, when every update was worse than the previous one. A shame too, since I really used to think so highly of them for over 20 years before... But, ever since, come to think of it, since Steve Jobs passed away... they lost everything that made them what they were. Shame...
